Let us pray with today’s Gospel Reading (John 7:40-52):

Lord Jesus Christ, You are the Word of truth and light of the world, and You came among Your people, yet many were divided about who You truly are. Some recognized You as the Prophet, others questioned and doubted, and many closed their hearts to Your truth.

Lord, we confess that we too are often divided within ourselves, torn between faith and doubt, between listening to Your voice and following the noise of the world. Open our hearts, O Lord, to recognize You as the Christ, the One sent by the Father for our salvation. Remove from us all prejudice, pride, and hardness of heart, that we may not judge according to appearances, but seek the truth with sincerity and humility.

Lord Jesus, You were rejected by those who thought they knew everything, yet You were welcomed by the humble who listened. Grant us the grace to be like those who seek understanding with an open heart. Give us the courage of those who dared to speak in Your defense, even when it was difficult, and strengthen us to stand for truth in a world often divided and confused. Enlighten our minds, that we may grow in knowledge of Your Word. Deepen our faith, that we may not waver in times of uncertainty.

Lord, gather us into unity, so that we may not be scattered by division, but be one in You, as You are one with the Father. May Your truth guide us, Your love sustain us, and Your grace lead us to the fullness of life. Amen
