Let us pray with today’s Gospel Reading (Luke 15:1-10)

God our Father,

On this Thursday, we come before You with a grateful heart, thanking You for the gift of a new day, for the blessings of life, and for Your unfailing love and mercy. Today, Jesus reveals Your tender and compassionate heart through the parables of the lost sheep and the lost coin. You remind us that a shepherd leaves the ninety-nine sheep to search for the one that is lost, and that a woman rejoices when she finds the coin she has been searching for. Through these beautiful images, Jesus teaches us that every soul is precious in Your sight and that heaven rejoices whenever a sinner repents.

Lord Jesus, thank You for being the Good Shepherd who knows each of us by name. Search every corner of our heart and find whatever has become distant from You. When we lose our way through sin, pride, anger, selfishness, or worldly distractions, gently bring me back to Your loving embrace. Do not allow our mistakes to make us doubt Your mercy. Give us the humility to acknowledge our weaknesses, the courage to seek forgiveness, and the grace to begin again.

Lord, forgive us for the times we have judged others instead of showing compassion, condemned those who have fallen instead of helping them rise, or forgotten that every person deserves love and dignity. Teach us to rejoice when others experience conversion and forgiveness. Remove every trace of resentment, prejudice, and self-righteousness from our heart. May we never become an obstacle to someone seeking Your mercy. Lord, make us an instrument of Your searching love. Open our eyes to those who feel abandoned, forgotten, rejected, or spiritually lost. Help me reach out to those who are struggling, encourage those who have lost hope, and welcome those who desire a new beginning. May my words bring comfort, my actions demonstrate kindness, and my life reflect Your compassion.

As this Thursday unfolds, guide our thoughts, decisions, conversations, and actions. When we are tempted to lose our way, remind us that Your mercy is always greater than our failures. When we encounter someone who has fallen, help us become a source of encouragement rather than judgment. We place this day and everything it holds into Your loving hands, Lord! Amen
