Let us pray with today’s Gospel Reading (Mark 2:23-28) as we celebrate Blessed Cyprian Michael Iwene Tansi:

Lord Jesus Christ,

Lord of the Sabbath and Giver of true rest, we thank You for revealing that the law is fulfilled in love and that the Sabbath was made for humanity, not humanity for the Sabbath.

As we celebrate Blessed Cyprian Michael Iwene Tansi, a faithful priest, monk, and humble servant of Your people, we praise You for his life of obedience, sacrifice, and deep prayer. In him, we see the freedom of a heart rooted in Your mercy and the joy of a life totally given to God.

Teach us, Lord, to understand Your commandments not as burdens that divide, but as paths that lead to communion, compassion, and unity.
In this Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, heal the wounds caused by rigid judgments and human pride. Help us to place charity above all things, so that our faith may become a bridge and not a barrier.

Grant that, like Blessed Cyprian Tansi, we may find our true rest in You alone, listening to Your voice, serving our brothers and sisters, and witnessing to the Gospel with humility and courage.

Unite all Christians, Lord, that in respecting one another’s traditions and recognizing You as Lord of all, we may walk together toward the fullness of unity You desire. You who live and reign with the Father in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God forever and ever. Amen!
