Let us pray with today’s Gospel Reading (Mark 6:1-6)

Lord Jesus Christ,
You returned to Your own hometown, yet You were met with doubt instead of faith, familiarity instead of trust, rejection instead of welcome.

We bring before You our own hearts, O Lord, often too accustomed to Your presence to be amazed by Your power, too distracted to recognize You at work among us.

Forgive us when unbelief limits what You desire to do in our lives, when pride, prejudice, or fear close us to Your grace. Heal our spiritual blindness, that we may see You not only in the extraordinary, but in the ordinary moments of our daily lives.

Lord Jesus, teach us to honor Your Word, even when it challenges our comfort, and to receive Your messengers, even when they come in familiar forms. Increase our faith, Lord, so that You may work mighty deeds within us and through us. Make our hearts a home where You are welcomed, our lives a place where Your power is free to act.

Lord Jesus, we trust in You, who were rejected yet remained faithful, who were doubted yet never ceased to love. You who live and reign forever and ever. Amen
