Let us pray with today’s Gospel Reading (Matthew 5:13-16)

Lord Jesus Christ,
You call us the salt of the earth and the light of the world. You entrust to us the mission of preserving what is good and shining Your truth in places of darkness. Forgive us, Lord, for the times we have lost our flavor by blending in with the spirit of the world, and for the times we have hidden our light out of fear, comfort, or indifference.

Lord, renew in us the grace of our baptism. Make our lives a clear witness to the Gospel, pure in heart, faithful in word, generous in service, and steadfast in hope.

In a world that lowers its standards, Lord Jesus, help us to raise ours in love and truth. May our works of mercy, our integrity, and our compassion lead others not to ourselves, but to the glory of the Father. Strengthen us to be salt that preserves, light that guides, and a living sign of Your presence in our families, our workplaces, and our communities. Amen
