Let us pray with today’s Gospel Reading (John 9:1-41):

Lord Jesus Christ, Light of the world and healer of our blindness, You passed by the man who had never seen the light of day, and in Your mercy, You opened his eyes so that he could behold the beauty of creation and recognize the One sent by the Father. Lord, we confess that we too are often blind. Our eyes are open, yet our hearts fail to see. We become blind through pride, indifference, and sin; we fail to recognize Your presence in the poor, the suffering, and the forgotten.

Lord Jesus, just as You touched the eyes of the man born blind and sent him to wash in the waters of Siloam, touch our hearts with Your grace and cleanse us in the living waters of Your mercy. Open our eyes, Lord, that we may see the truth of Your Gospel. Free us from the darkness of hatred, selfishness, and fear, and lead us into the radiant light of Your love. Grant that we may grow in faith as the blind man grew in understanding: first seeing You as a man among us, then recognizing You as a prophet, then believing that You come from God, and finally worshipping You as Lord and Savior.

Lord Jesus, when the world rejects Your truth and calls darkness light and light darkness, strengthen our faith so that we may stand firm in Your light. Do not allow us to remain in spiritual blindness but guide us always along the path of truth and life. May Your light shine within us so that we may become witnesses of hope for those who still walk in darkness. Lord, illuminate our minds, purify our hearts, and direct our steps, so that one day we may see You face to face in the eternal light of Your Kingdom where You live and reign forever and ever, Amen!
