Let us pray with today’s Gospel Reading (Matthew 26:14-25)

Heavenly Father, as we enter this new month of April and continue our journey through Holy Week, we come before You with humble and contrite hearts. O Lord, in the shadow of betrayal, You gathered with Your disciples in love. Even knowing the heart of Judas Iscariot, You did not withdraw Your mercy but offered him friendship until the end.

Lord, we recognize in ourselves the weakness that leads to betrayal, the times we choose sin over grace, self-interest over love, darkness over Your light. Have mercy on us, O Lord. Search our hearts and reveal to us the hidden places where we resist You. Like the disciples who asked, “Surely it is not I, Lord?” help us to examine ourselves with sincerity and truth. Grant us the grace of repentance, that we may not fall into despair, but return to You with trust in Your mercy.

As we begin this new month, Lord, renew in us a firm desire to follow You faithfully. Let April be a time of conversion, a time to turn away from sin and walk more closely in Your ways. Lord Jesus, You chose the path of the Cross even when surrounded by betrayal and suffering. Give us strength to remain faithful in moments of trial and temptation. Protect us from the spirit of greed and selfishness that led Judas astray. Instead, fill our hearts with generosity, humility, and sincere love. May we never take Your grace for granted but cherish every moment of Your presence in our lives, especially in the Holy Eucharist.

Lord, as we journey toward the mystery of Your Passion, keep us close to You. Let us not betray You by our actions but honor You with lives of faith and love. Bless this new month, O Lord, and guide us each day toward the joy of Your Resurrection. Amen
