Let us pray with today’s Gospel Reading (Mark 10:32-45):

God Our Father, with humble hearts we come before You, listening to the words of Your  Son, Jesus Christ, who journeyed courageously toward Jerusalem, embracing the Cross out of love for humanity. Lord Jesus Christ, You walked ahead of Your disciples, steadfast and faithful even in the face of suffering. Teach us to follow You with courage, especially when the road is difficult, uncertain, or demanding. When fear overwhelms us, give us strength. When sacrifice feels heavy, give us perseverance. When we are tempted to seek comfort over faithfulness, help us to trust in the power of Your Cross.

Lord, You taught Your disciples that greatness in Your Kingdom is not found in power, status, or recognition, but in humble service: “Whoever wishes to be great among you must be your servant.” Free our hearts from pride, ambition, and selfishness. Teach us to serve one another with love, patience, and generosity. Help us to seek not positions of honor, but opportunities to care for the weak, to comfort the suffering, and to bring hope to those in need.

Lord Jesus, You came not to be served but to serve and to give Your life as a ransom for many. May Your example inspire us to live lives of selfless love, placing others before ourselves and reflecting Your compassion in all we do. Bless our families, communities, and Church. Guide leaders to serve with humility and wisdom. Strengthen priests, religious, and all who dedicate their lives to Your mission. Protect those who suffer, encourage the weary, and grant peace to troubled hearts.

Holy Spirit, shape us into faithful disciples, humble in service, courageous in witness, and joyful in following Christ. Lord Jesus, help us each day to walk behind You, carrying our crosses with hope, until we share in the joy of Your Resurrection. For You live and reign forever and ever. Amen
