Let us pray with today’s Gospel Reading (Matthew 5:13-16):

Lord Jesus Christ, You call us to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world. Through our Baptism, You have entrusted us with the mission of bringing Your presence into the world. Grant us the courage to embrace this calling with faith and generosity.

Make us the salt of the earth, Lord. May our words bring encouragement, our actions promote justice, our kindness heal wounds, and our love preserve what is good and holy in the world. Keep us from losing the flavor of authentic Christian discipleship through indifference, compromise, or fear. Help us to remain faithful to Your teachings and to bear witness to the truth with humility and conviction.

Make us the light of the world, Lord. Shine through our lives so that others may see Your goodness reflected in us. Where there is darkness, may we bring hope. Where there is hatred, may we bring love. Where there is confusion, may we bring truth. Where there is despair, may we bring the light of faith.

Lord, do not allow us to hide the gifts You have given us. May our talents, our service, and our witness glorify You and draw others closer to Your Kingdom. Bless our families, our communities, and our Church. Strengthen all who strive to live the Gospel in difficult circumstances. Support missionaries, catechists, teachers, parents, and all who help spread the light of Christ in the world.

Lord Jesus, may this day be an opportunity to be salt that gives flavor to the world and light that points others to You, so that in all things God may be glorified. Amen
