Let us pray with today’s Gospel Reading (Matthew 23:23-26):

 Lord Jesus Christ,

Today, we come before You with humble hearts, asking You to purify our lives and make our faith sincere. Cleanse our hearts from hypocrisy. Help us not merely to appear holy before others, but to become holy within. May our prayers, words, and religious practices flow from a genuine love for You and for our neighbor.

Lord, teach us to practice justice when it is difficult, mercy when we are hurt, and faithfulness when we are tested. May we never use religion to judge, condemn, or elevate ourselves above others, but rather allow our faith to make us more compassionate, humble, and ready to serve.

Lord, You tell us to clean the inside of the cup first. Begin with our hearts. Remove whatever is selfish, proud, bitter, dishonest, or unforgiving. Fill us instead with Your grace, truth, love, and peace. May our external actions truly reflect the transformation You are accomplishing within us. Let our lives become a faithful witness that what matters most is not merely how we appear before people, but who we are before You. Amen
