Let us pray with today’s Gospel Reading (Luke 4:16-30):

 God Our Father,

As we come to the end of this month of August and prepare to begin a new week, we thank You for Your faithfulness throughout the days behind us. For every blessing, every challenge, every answered prayer, and even for the moments when we could not understand Your ways, we give You thanks.

Lord Jesus, as we begin this new week, anoint us with Your Holy Spirit. Send us into our homes, workplaces, communities, and places of service as instruments of Your Good News. May our words bring encouragement, our presence bring peace, and our actions reveal Your love.

Lord, help us not to become like those in Nazareth who were unable to recognize You because they thought they already knew You. Free us from familiarity, prejudice, pride, and the temptation to limit what You can do in our lives.

As August comes to an end, we surrender everything we have experienced into Your hands. Heal what needs healing, forgive what needs forgiveness, restore what has been lost, and give us the grace to begin again. Bless this new week and all our activities. Guide our decisions, protect our families, strengthen those who are sick or discouraged, provide for those in need, and give wisdom to all who carry responsibilities.May September find us renewed in faith, stronger in hope, and deeper in love. Help us to enter the new month not with fear of what lies ahead, but with confidence that You are already there waiting for us. Amen
