Let us pray with today’s Gospel Reading (Luke 4:38-44):

Lord Jesus Christ,

We thank You for the gift of this new day and for Your loving presence. Today, we see You entering the home of Simon, healing his mother-in-law, and bringing healing to many who were sick and suffering. Come into our homes. Enter every place where there is sickness, anxiety, pain, conflict, or discouragement. Lay Your healing hands upon those who are suffering in body, mind, or spirit. Restore hope to those who feel forgotten and strength to those who are weary. Like Simon’s mother-in-law, may those whom You heal respond with gratitude and service. Teach us that the blessings we receive are not meant to end with us, but to become gifts we share with others.

Lord, we also learn from You the importance of withdrawing to a quiet place to pray. Amid the noise, responsibilities, and demands of life, teach us to make time for silence and communion with You. May prayer remain the source of our strength and the foundation of our service.

Lord Jesus, when people sought to keep You from moving on, You said, “I must proclaim the good news of the Kingdom of God to the other cities also.” Give us a missionary heart. May we never become so comfortable that we forget those who are waiting to hear the Good News. Bless our families, our communities, the sick, the elderly, the lonely, and all who need Your healing touch today. Amen
