Let us pray with today’s Gospel Reading (Luke 6:43-49):

Lord Jesus Christ,

On this Saturday, we come before You with grateful hearts, thanking You for the gift of another day and for the grace to draw closer to You. Today, You remind us that “a good tree does not bear rotten fruit.” Lord, transform the tree of our hearts so that our lives may produce fruits of goodness, love, mercy, patience, forgiveness, and faith.

Lord Jesus, You tell us that the mouth speaks from the abundance of the heart. Purify our hearts, Lord, because what lives within us eventually appears in our words and actions. Remove bitterness, anger, pride, jealousy, resentment, and selfishness. Fill us instead with Your peace and Your love. Teach us not merely to call You “Lord,” but to listen to Your words and put them into practice. May our faith never remain only on our lips. Let it become visible in the way we treat our families, our neighbours, the poor, the sick, the lonely, and those who need our help.

Lord Jesus, be the solid foundation of our lives. When the storms of life come, when there are disappointments, financial struggles, illness, family problems, uncertainty, or grief, keep us firmly rooted in You. Do not allow us to build our lives on wealth, success, popularity, possessions, or the approval of others because these foundations can collapse. Help us build upon Your Word, because a life founded on Christ can withstand the storms.

Lord, bless our families this Saturday. Bring peace into our homes and healing into relationships that have been wounded. Protect our children and guide them in Your ways. Strengthen parents, comfort those who are worried, and give wisdom to those facing difficult decisions. Lord, examine the foundations of our lives. Show us anything that is weak or built apart from You. Give us the courage to rebuild where necessary and the humility to begin again.

May our hearts become good soil, our lives good trees, and our actions beautiful fruits of Your grace. Amen
