Let us pray with today’s Gospel Reading (Luke 9:1-6):

Lord Jesus Christ,

On this blessed Memorial of St. Pio of Pietrelcina, we come before You with gratitude for the gift of his holy life and his faithful witness to Christ. Today You sent Your disciples out to proclaim the Kingdom of God and to heal the sick. He teaches them to travel simply, trusting not in possessions or human security, but in the providence of God.

Lord Jesus, give us the faith of a missionary disciple. Send us wherever You need us, and make our life an instrument of Your Gospel. Teach us to depend upon You rather than upon material things, human recognition, or worldly success. When are afraid of tomorrow, remind us that You are already there.

Like Saint Padre Pio, Lord, help us to remain faithful in prayer, especially when life becomes difficult. Give us a heart that seeks You in the Eucharist, trusts in Your mercy, and perseveres even in suffering. Lord, give us the grace to become an instrument of healing. Where there is pain, let us bring compassion. Where there is division, let us bring peace. Where there is discouragement, let us bring hope. Where there is hatred, let us bring forgiveness.

Help us, Lord, to proclaim the Kingdom not only through our words but through our lives and may our actions make Your love visible to those who encounter us. When You send us into situations where we feel inadequate, give us courage. When we are rejected, keep us humble. When we are accepted, keep us grateful. When we are suffering, keep us faithful. Bless my family, friends, and all those who need Your healing today. Remember especially the sick, the lonely, the elderly, those struggling with anxiety or discouragement, and those who have lost hope. May we never forget that we do not go into the world alone. You send us, You accompany us, and Your grace is sufficient for us.

O St. Padre Pio, teach us to pray with perseverance, to carry our crosses with faith, to approach the Sacraments with reverence, and to trust completely in God’s mercy and help us, like you, to remain close to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and to Our Blessed Mother.
