Let us pray with today’s Gospel Reading (Luke 9:7-9):

Lord Jesus Christ,

Today, Herod hears about all that You are doing and becomes troubled and curious. He asks, “Who then is this about whom I hear such things?” Lord, place that question in our hearts, not as curiosity alone, but as a sincere desire to know You, love You, and follow You. Do not allow us to remain a distant observer of Your works but draw us closer to You. Open our eyes to recognize Your presence in our lives and open our hearts to receive Your truth.

Lord, when we hear Your Word, help us to listen. When You call us, help us to respond. When You correct us, give us humility. When You forgive us, give us gratitude and when You ask us to change, give us courage.

Lord, remove from us every fear, pride, attachment, and selfish desire that prevents us from encountering You. Give us the grace not only to ask “Who is Jesus?”, but to confess with faith: “Jesus is my Lord and my Savior.”

Lord Jesus, teach us to seek You with a sincere heart, especially when we do not understand what is happening in our lives. When we face uncertainty, help us to trust Your wisdom rather than our own understanding.

Bless our families and loved ones. Bring peace to those who are troubled, healing to those who are sick, comfort to those who are grieving, and hope to those who are searching for meaning. May our lives become an answer to Herod’s question. May others recognize Your presence through our kindness, forgiveness, patience, generosity, and faith.

Jesus, help us to know You more deeply, love You more faithfully, and serve You more generously. Amen
