Lord Jesus Christ,
Teach us not to become complacent in our faith or distracted by the concerns of this world. May our hearts always be ready to welcome You, not only at the end of our earthly journey but also in the ordinary moments of each day. Help us to recognise Your presence in the people we meet, the responsibilities we carry, and the opportunities we receive to do good.
Lord, give us the grace to live our Christian values with sincerity and courage. May we practice love when hatred surrounds us, forgiveness when we are hurt, honesty when dishonesty seems easier, humility when pride tempts us, and generosity when selfishness takes hold of our hearts. Teach us to defend what is right, speak the truth with charity, respect the dignity of every person, and stand beside those who are poor, forgotten, or suffering.
Lord, keep the lamps of our faith burning through prayer, the reading of Your Word, participation in the Holy Eucharist, and acts of service to our neighbours. When we grow weary, renew our strength. When we become discouraged, restore our hope. When we fall into sin, grant us the humility to repent and the courage to begin again. May we never postpone doing good or wait for a more convenient moment to practice kindness. Help us understand that being ready for You means being faithful today: loving our families, fulfilling our duties responsibly, serving our communities, and treating everyone with compassion and justice.
Lord Jesus, You remind us today of the blessedness of servants whom their master finds awake when he comes. May You find us faithful in our words, sincere in our intentions, and consistent in our actions. Let our lives become living testimonies of Your love, so that others may encounter Your goodness through us. Lord, keep our hearts awake, our faith alive, our lamps burning, and our hands ready to serve. May we never grow tired of doing good, never lose sight of our Christian mission, and never allow the distractions of this world to separate us from You. May we live each day in joyful expectation of Your coming, faithful in love and steadfast in hope, until we are welcomed into the fullness of Your eternal kingdom. Amen
