Let us pray with today’s Gospel Reading (Mark 3:13-19)

Lord Jesus Christ, on the mountain You called those You desired, and they came to You to be with You and to be sent out and on this Friday, as we remember Your holy Cross and continue our Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, we come once more at Your call.

Lord Jesus, You chose the Twelve not because they were perfect, but because You loved them and entrusted them with Your mission. Teach us to remain with You, to listen to Your word, and to be formed by the mystery of Your self-giving love.

Crucified Lord, from the Cross You gathered all people into one Body. Heal the wounds of division among Christians; break down the walls of suspicion, pride, and fear. Unite us in the power of Your sacrifice, so that we may bear witness together to the Gospel of reconciliation.

Send us forth, Lord, as apostles of unity and peace, faithful to Your Cross, humble in service, and courageous in love. May our lives proclaim that You alone are Lord, who live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen
