Lat us pray with today’s Gospel Reading (Mark 7:1-13) as we celebrate the Memorial of Saint Scholastica, Virgin:

Lord Jesus Christ,
You see not only our outward actions but the truth that dwells within the heart. You warn us against honoring You with our lips while our hearts drift far from You. On this Memorial of Saint Scholastica, a woman of deep prayer and sincere love, teach us the wisdom of an undivided heart and free us from empty rituals and from traditions that lose their soul, so that our worship may be pleasing in Your sight.

Like Saint Scholastica, Lord, form in us hearts attentive to Your voice, faith rooted in love, and obedience shaped by trust rather than fear.May our devotion never become habit alone, but always remain a living relationship with You. Purify our intentions, Lord. Let our prayers rise not from obligation but from desire for holiness. May our lives reflect what we profess, and may our love for You be shown in mercy, humility, and faithful service to others.

Through the intercession of Saint Scholastica, teach us to choose what truly matters, to place Your commandment above all else, and to walk each day in simplicity of heart. Amen
