Let us pray with today’s Gospel Reading (Mark 8:1-10) as we celebrate the Memorial of Saints Cyril (Monk) and Methodius (Bishop)

Lord Jesus, 

As we celebrate the Memorial of Saint Cyril and Saint Methodius, Patron Saints of Europe, we thank You for their missionary zeal and their trust in that same divine abundance. Just as Christ fed the crowds with humble bread, You fed the nations through these holy brothers, who brought the light of the Gospel to the Slavic peoples and nourished hearts with the Bread of Life.

Lord Jesus,
You who multiplied loaves in the desert, multiply faith in our hearts. You who satisfied the hunger of thousands, satisfy Europe’s hunger for truth, unity, and peace and through the intercession of Saints Cyril and Methodius, grant that all peoples may hear the Gospel proclaimed in their own language and embrace it with joy.

O Holy Spirit,

You inspired these saints to proclaim Christ boldly and to build bridges among cultures. Renew in us the courage to witness, the humility to serve, and the compassion to see the needs of those around us. May we never doubt Your providence in times of scarcity. May we offer the little we have, trusting that You will bless and multiply it. And may we, nourished by the Eucharist, become instruments of unity and charity in our families, our communities, and throughout the world. Amen
