Let us pray with today’s Gospel Reading (Luke 24:13-35):

Lord Jesus Christ, Risen Lord,

You walked with Your disciples on the road to Emmaus, drawing near to them in their confusion and sorrow. Though their eyes were prevented from recognizing You, Your presence brought light to their hearts. Lord, we too journey through moments of doubt, disappointment, and uncertainty. Stay with us when our faith grows weak and when we fail to recognize You walking beside us.

Open the Scriptures to us, O Lord, and set our hearts on fire with Your Word. Help us to understand Your ways, even when they are hidden from our sight. As You broke the bread and revealed Yourself, open our eyes in the Eucharist, that we may recognize You truly present, the Living Bread who nourishes our souls. Like the disciples, transform our discouragement into joy, our confusion into clarity, and our fear into courageous faith.Lord Jesus, stay with us, for evening draws near in the world around us. Remain in our homes, our hearts, and our communities. Send us forth as witnesses of Your Resurrection, that we may proclaim with joy: “We have seen the Lord!” May our lives reflect the burning faith of those who have encountered You, and may we always walk in the light of Your presence.
