Let us pray with today’s Gospel Reading (John 21:15-19):

 Lord Jesus Christ,

On this Friday before the great feast of Pentecost, we come before You with humble hearts, listening to Your loving question to Peter: “Do you love me?” Lord, You ask not first about our success, our achievements, or our strength, but about our love. Today we answer You with sincerity:

Lord, You know everything; You know that we love You. Yet increase our love where it is weak, heal our hearts where fear and failure remain, and teach us to love You more deeply each day. Like Peter, we recognize our weaknesses, our moments of doubt, hesitation, and denial. But You do not abandon us in our failures. Instead, You call us again, restore us, and entrust us with mission.

Lord Jesus, teach us to hear Your voice saying: “Feed my lambs… Tend my sheep.” Help us to care for one another with compassion, to strengthen the weak, comfort the sorrowful, encourage the discouraged, and become instruments of Your mercy. As we prepare for Pentecost, renew in us the grace of discipleship. May the Holy Spirit give us courage to follow You faithfully, even when the road is difficult, even when sacrifice is required, even when we are called beyond our comfort.

Lord, You told Peter saying, “Follow me.” In this new season of grace, help us to follow You without fear, in faith when the future is uncertain, in love when charity is difficult, and in hope when burdens weigh heavily upon us. Holy Spirit, promised Advocate, prepare our hearts for Your coming. Burn away our indifference, strengthen our commitment to Christ, and set our hearts ablaze with divine love. Mary, Mother of the Church, who prayed with the apostles awaiting Pentecost, walk with us and intercede for us.  Amen
