Let us pray with today’s Gospel Reading (John 20:19-23):

God Our Father, On this joyful feast of Pentecost, we gather as Your people, united in faith and hope, celebrating the gift of the Holy Spirit poured out upon the Church.

Lord Jesus Christ, on the evening of Your Resurrection, You came among Your fearful disciples and said: “Peace be with you.” Today, speak those same words to our hearts. In a world troubled by fear, division, violence, and uncertainty, fill us with the peace that only You can give. Risen Lord, You breathed upon Your disciples and said: “Receive the Holy Spirit.” Breathe anew upon us today. Renew what is weary within us, heal what is wounded, strengthen what is weak, and rekindle the fire of faith in our hearts.

Holy Spirit, Divine Advocate, come upon Your Church with power. Like wind, move us from fear to courage. Like fire, purify our hearts and inflame us with divine love. Like light, guide us in truth and wisdom. Spirit of Unity, heal divisions in our families, communities, and world. Teach us to speak words of reconciliation, to listen with compassion, and to witness to Christ with joy and humility. Spirit of Wisdom, guide our leaders, strengthen missionaries and pastors, renew young people in faith, comfort the suffering, and inspire all believers to live as faithful disciples.

Lord Jesus, You entrusted Your Church with the ministry of mercy and forgiveness. Help us to forgive as we have been forgiven, to bring healing where there is pain, hope where there is despair, and love where there is hatred. As we celebrate this holy feast, may Pentecost not remain only a memory of the past, but become a living reality in our lives today, a new Pentecost in our hearts, homes, Church, and world.

Holy Mary, Mother of the Church, who prayed with the apostles in the Upper Room, intercede for us as we receive the grace of the Holy Spirit.

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Your faithful and kindle in them the fire of Your love.  Amen
