Let us pray with today’s Gospel Reading (Matthew 6:1-6.16-18):

Lord Jesus Christ, In today’s Gospel, You teach us that true righteousness is not about seeking the praise of others, but about seeking the approval of our Heavenly Father. You remind us that prayer, fasting, and works of charity are meant to draw us closer to God, not to attract attention or admiration.

Lord, purify our hearts. When we are tempted to seek recognition for our good deeds, teach us humility. When pride creeps into our service, remind us that all we have and all we do are gifts from You. Help us to live our faith with sincerity, integrity, and love.

Lord, teach us to pray as You taught Your disciples: not merely with words, but with hearts open to the Father. May our times of prayer become moments of genuine encounter with You, where we listen to Your voice and rest in Your presence.

Lord, help us to discover the beauty of silence and the power of hidden faithfulness. In a world that often seeks applause, visibility, and self-promotion, grant us the grace to value what is unseen and eternal. Bless all those who quietly serve others without recognition: parents caring for their children, priests and religious faithfully serving Your people, volunteers helping those in need, and all who perform acts of kindness known only to You.

Lord, teach us also the true spirit of fasting and sacrifice. May our self-denial not be a burden but an offering of love. Through prayer, fasting, and charity, help us grow in holiness and freedom from selfishness. You who see in secret, reward us not with earthly honors but with the joy of knowing and loving You more deeply. Let our lives be a hidden offering of praise, pleasing in Your sight. Amen
