Let us pray with today’s Gospel Reading (Matthew 10:26-33):
God Our Father,
On this blessed Sunday, we gather as Your people, grateful for the gift of life and for the privilege of worshipping You in faith and hope. We thank You for Your Word, which strengthens us in times of uncertainty and reminds us that we are always held in Your loving hands.
Lord Jesus Christ, You repeat to us three times: “Do not be afraid.” These words speak directly to our hearts, for we live in a world filled with anxieties, conflicts, uncertainties, and many voices that seek to disturb our peace. When we are afraid of the future, remind us that You are already there. When we are afraid of failure, remind us that Your grace is sufficient for us. When we are afraid of rejection, criticism, or persecution because of our faith, give us the courage to stand firmly with You.
Lord, You know the fears we carry within us: the worries about our families, the concerns about our health, the burdens of work and responsibility, the uncertainties of our world, and the silent struggles known only to You. Today, we place them all before Your Sacred Heart. You tell us that not even a sparrow falls to the ground without the Father’s knowledge and that every hair on our head has been counted. Help us to trust in this tender providence. Teach us to believe that we are precious in Your sight and that nothing can separate us from Your love.
Lord Jesus, strengthen all who suffer because of injustice, poor leadership, violence, poverty, or persecution. Comfort those who feel abandoned or forgotten. Protect those who courageously defend truth, justice, and human dignity. In an age marked by rapid technological change, confusion, and fear, keep our eyes fixed on You. May we never place our ultimate trust in human power, wealth, or technology, but always in the living God who guides history with wisdom and love.
Lord, grant us the courage to acknowledge You before others—not only with our words but also through lives of integrity, charity, and faithfulness. May we never be ashamed of the Gospel but joyfully bear witness to Your truth wherever You send us. Bless Your Church throughout the world. Strengthen our Holy Father Pope Leo XIV, bishops, priests, religious, and all the faithful. Give them wisdom, perseverance, and courage in proclaiming Your Kingdom. Amen
