Let us pray with today’s Gospel Reading (Matthew 12:14-21):

Lord Jesus Christ,

Even in the face of rejection and hostility, You remained faithful to the Father’s will. You fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah, showing compassion to the weak, hope to the discouraged, and mercy to sinners. Teach us to imitate Your gentleness, especially when we encounter misunderstanding, opposition, or injustice.

Lord, You did not break the bruised reed or quench the smoldering wick. Look with compassion upon those whose faith has grown weak, those burdened by suffering, those wounded by sin, and those who have lost hope. Heal them with Your mercy and restore them with Your love.

Lord, deliver us from anger, bitterness, and the desire for revenge. Fill our hearts instead with patience, kindness, and the courage to overcome evil with good. Make us instruments of reconciliation in our families, our communities, and wherever You send us. Amen
