Let us pray with today’s Gospel Reading (John 20:1-2.11-18): Feast of Saint Mary Magdalene

Lord Jesus Christ,

Like Mary Magdalene, we sometimes stand weeping before the empty tomb, burdened by grief, disappointment, fear, or uncertainty. Yet amid our tears, You call each of us by name. Open our ears to recognize Your voice and our hearts to respond with faith, love, and joyful obedience.

Lord, when we are tempted to seek You only in the past or in places where You are no longer found, help us to discover Your living presence in the Holy Eucharist, in Your Word, in the Sacraments, and in our brothers and sisters. May our encounter with You renew our hope and strengthen our commitment to follow You each day.

Lord, make us faithful witnesses of Your Resurrection. Like St. Mary Magdalene, may we not keep the Good News to ourselves but proclaim with conviction that You are alive and that Your mercy has the power to transform every human heart.

Lord, bless all who carry hidden sorrows today, the grieving, the lonely, the sick, the discouraged, and those searching for meaning. Speak their names with tenderness, console them with Your presence, and fill them with the hope that comes from the empty tomb. Amen
