Let us pray with today’s Gospel Reading (John 11:19:27): Memorial of Saints Martha, Mary, and Lazarus

Lord Jesus Christ,

Today, You proclaim to Martha: “I am the Resurrection and the Life; whoever believes in me, even if he dies, will live.” Strengthen our faith to believe these words, especially when we encounter suffering, loss, uncertainty, or the death of those we love. Help us, like Martha, to profess with confidence: “Yes, Lord, I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God.”

Lord, when our hearts are burdened by grief or disappointment, remind us that You are always present, even when Your plans are beyond our understanding. Teach us to trust in Your perfect love and to place every fear, sorrow, and hope into Your compassionate hands.

Lord, bless our homes and families. May they become places where faith is nurtured, prayer is cherished, and charity is lived each day. Like Martha, may we serve generously; like Mary, may we sit at Your feet and listen to Your Word; and like Lazarus, may our lives bear witness to the new life You give to all who believe.

We pray for those who mourn the loss of loved ones, for the sick, the lonely, and those whose faith has grown weak. May Your presence comfort them, Your Word strengthen them, and Your promise of eternal life fill them with hope. Amen
