Let us pray with today’s Gospel Reading (Luke 6:20-26):

Lord Jesus Christ,

We come before You with grateful hearts, listening to Your challenging words: “Blessed are you who are poor… who are hungry… who weep… who are hated because of the Son of Man.” Lord Jesus, teach us to understand true blessedness not according to the values of this world, but according to the heart of God. When the world tells us that happiness is found in wealth, comfort, popularity, success, and recognition, remind us that our deepest treasure is found in You.

Give us, Lord, a heart that is poor in spirit, humble, dependent upon You, and generous towards others. When we experience hardship, hunger, sorrow, rejection, or disappointment, give us the grace to remain faithful, knowing that You never abandon Your children.

Lord, protect us from becoming so comfortable that we forget those who suffer. Open our eyes to the hungry, the homeless, the lonely, the sick, the persecuted, and those who have no voice. Make us instruments of Your compassion. Forgive us when we seek human praise more than Your approval. Save us from living only for the applause of others. May our lives not be measured by possessions, status, or popularity, but by the love we give and the faithfulness with which we follow Christ.

Lord Jesus, help us to rejoice when we suffer for the sake of Your name. Give us courage to remain faithful when our Christian values are misunderstood or rejected. May we never be ashamed of the Gospel. Teach us to live with our eyes fixed on the eternal Kingdom, where sorrow will become joy, hunger will be satisfied, and every tear will be wiped away.

May the blessings of Christ transform our hearts so that we may become poor in spirit, rich in love, humble in service, faithful in suffering, and generous in mercy. Amen
