Let us pray with today’s Gospel Reading (Luke 6:27-38):

Lord Jesus Christ,

We come before You today with humble hearts, asking for the grace to live Your difficult but beautiful teaching: “Love your enemies, do good to those who h@te you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.” Your command is far greater than ordinary human love. Teach us to love not only those who love us, but also those who have hurt, rejected, misunderstood, or w0unded us. When our hearts want revenge, give us mercy. When anger rises within us, give us peace. When forgiveness seems impossible, give us Your grace.

Lord, heal the w0unds we carry from the past. Free us from resentment, bitterness, hatred, and the desire to see others suffer. Help us to forgive, not because what happened was insignificant, but because Your mercy is greater than our pain. Teach us to pray for those who have hurt us. Bless them, Lord, and work in their hearts as You work in ours. Help us never to return evil for evil, but to overcome evil with goodness.

Lord Jesus, make our hearts resemble the heart of the Father. May our words bring healing rather than w0unds, our actions bring peace rather than division, and our presence bring hope rather than discouragement. Lord, teach us not to judge quickly or condemn others. Give us the humility to recognise our own weaknesses and compassion to understand the struggles of others. Where we have judged, forgive us. Where we have condemned, soften our hearts. Where we have refused mercy, teach us to begin again.

Lord, bless our families. Heal broken relationships between husbands and wives, parents and children, brothers and sisters, friends and neighbours. Give us the courage to take the first step toward reconciliation. You promise that the measure we give will be the measure we receive. Make us generous in forgiveness, abundant in compassion, patient in understanding, and faithful in love. May our lives become a living testimony that h@tred does not have the final word, w0unds can be healed, enemies can become brothers and sisters, and mercy can transform hearts. Amen

Jesus, teach us to love as You love.

Teach us to forgive as You forgive.

Teach us to give without counting the cost.

Teach us to be merciful as the Father is merciful.

May Your love triumph over every bitterness in our hearts. Amen
